Getting started
Guard Email is a Gmail add-on. You install it once and it's available inside your Gmail sidebar whenever you need it.
Step 1: Install the add-on
Visit the Google Workspace Marketplace and click Install. Grant the required permissions — Guard Email needs access to your Gmail to forward emails to your inbox.
Permissions
Guard Email only requests the minimum permissions needed to operate. We never read, store, or share your email content. See our privacy policy for full details.
Step 2: Open Guard Email in Gmail
After installation, open Gmail in your browser. You'll find the Guard Email icon in your right sidebar. Click it to open the add-on panel.
Step 3: Create your first alias
- Click Create Alias in the add-on panel
- Guard Email will generate a random alias for you (e.g.
random123@m.guardemail.com) - That's it — your alias is ready to use
Pro tip
With a Pro subscription, you can create custom aliases like shopping@m.guardemail.com instead of random ones. This makes it easy to remember what each alias is for.
Step 4: Use your alias
Copy the alias and paste it wherever you need an email address:
- Online shopping checkout
- Newsletter sign-ups
- Free trial registrations
- Forum accounts
- Any website that asks for your email
Emails sent to your alias will automatically appear in your Gmail inbox.
Managing your aliases
From the Guard Email panel in Gmail, you can:
- View all aliases — see a list of all your active aliases
- Disable an alias — temporarily stop forwarding without deleting
- Enable an alias — resume forwarding for a disabled alias
- Delete an alias — permanently remove an alias (cannot be undone)
