What is Shielded Email for Gmail?

Shielded Email for Gmail generates a unique email alias that you can use to sign up for other websites.

You can use email aliases so you don't have to share your real email address. Aliases can be (temporarily) disabled or permanently deleted. Mails sent to your alias will be forwarded to your inbox with a slight delay (expect 30 seconds max).

We recommend against using aliases for really important senders. Although we have taken measures to improve uptime & reliability, interruptions in service could occur. Alias deletion can't be undone, so be careful.

Emails will be received on the domain "m1.guardemail.com". For example: when creating an alias, you will be able to use the email address example@m1.guardemail.com. Mails sent to this email address will be forwarded to your gmail inbox.
